Update
Learn how to update AI-Starter. Updates consist of two components: Application and Infrastructure.
Application Updates
When a new version is released, the application is usually automatically updated. No action is required from administrators.
Note
Advance notifications are not usually provided. You will be notified in advance only when significant changes are made.
If Automatic Updates Are Not Available
Depending on your environment, the application may not be automatically delivered. In that case, perform a manual deployment using the following steps:
- Log in to the AWS Management Console and open Amazon ECS.
- Select the AI-Starter cluster.
- Select the target service.
- Click the ▲ next to the Update button, then select Force new deployment from the dropdown.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Review the details and click Confirm.
- Open the target service, then go to the Deployments tab and verify that the status of the target deployment shows Success in the service deployments section.
Infrastructure Updates
Infrastructure updates are performed by updating the AWS CloudFormation stack. You can choose from the following two methods:
- Update by a representative: A representative accesses your AWS account and performs the update.
- Self-service update: You perform the update yourself using a template provided by a representative.
Update Procedure Using a Template
- Receive the CloudFormation template file from a representative.
- Log in to the AWS Management Console and open CloudFormation.
- Select the AI-Starter stack from the stack list.
- Click Update.
- Select Replace existing template and upload the template file you received.
- In Step 2 (Specify stack details), click Next without making changes.
- In Step 3 (Configure stack options), check I acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources, then click Next.
- In Step 4 (Review), verify the details and click Submit.
- When the stack status shows
UPDATE_COMPLETE, the update is complete.
