AI-Starter 3.1.4

Last updated: August 24, 2026

AI-Starter 3.1.4 has been released. This update adds AWS IAM authentication for external service integration (MCP) and a chat history expiration date label.

New Features

AWS IAM (SigV4) Authentication for External Service Integration (MCP)

You can now select AWS IAM as an authentication provider type for MCP servers. This lets MCP servers behind Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway authenticate via SigV4 signing, instead of OAuth. Setup details are in External Service Integration (MCP).

Tool Name Prefix for MCP Servers

When using multiple MCP servers, tool names could collide. You can now set a prefix added to each server's tool names to avoid these collisions.

Chat History Expiration Date Label

Chat history is automatically deleted after a retention period. Starting 5 days before deletion, the chat header now shows the date on which it will be deleted.

Improvements

Fixed Conversation History When Using Tools

Fixed an issue where sending the next message could fail after using tools (MCP, web search, etc.) with a reasoning model.

Improved Bedrock Stream Error Handling

Errors during a Bedrock streaming response are now normalized and logged. The user is also notified in the chat.
